We lounged a bit in the morning before washing up and heading for breakfast. It was campground eggs, sausage, and pancakes. We headed South for 30 miles or so and found a bar/lounge/cooler with Gatorade. Cold, sweet, flavored drinks are sooo good when it's 97 degrees out. We continued South to our left turn at the 40. We stopped again for water and snacks then headed on to Santa Rosa. It was 104 when we got to the hotel, but the air conditioning and swimming pool helped things quite a bit. It was dinner at Santa Fe Grille, next door, then 11 hours of sleep. We are all adjusting to the output. The extreme heat makes it a bit more challenging. Tonight, Tucumcari, and The Safari Motel. Wanda Jackson calls it the coolest. I hope that was literal.
